Time for Carving

October 6, 2014

As we approach Thanksgiving and the ski season, I thought that it would be an appropriate time to discuss carving.

As we gather with our family and friends for the holiday, we must ensure that we properly carve our bird.

As we approach the ski season, it’s important that we don’t look like a turkey and are able to properly carve down the hill. Our professionalism as patrollers is judged long in advance of a need for our services. If the public see us skiing poorly, recklessly or without due regard for others that opinion comes to the forefront of their mind when they need our services.

We are all judged by the abilities of our least proficient skier and patroller and thus it’s important to begin to hone our skills.

Spend some time now to prevent being the Turkey on the hill.
